Finding Reputable Sources and Understanding Perspective

Read about these two documentaries, Skulls of My People and Namibia - A wild journey from Windhoek to Harnas (watch a few minutes of the second video and read the description below it.):

1. Who directed and filmed each one?  What nationality were are these people?

2. How do these perspectives differ? 

3. To what audiences are they appealing?

4. Do you suspect the films have certain biases woven into them?

Read about these two books.

Mama Namibia (click "read more" to find the full description) by Mari Serebrov and This is Namibia by Peter Joyce and Gerald S. Cubitt.  

1. What perspectives, identities, narratives, and historicities do you think each book emphasizes?  Research the authors for more background if needed.

2. How does perspective change the way we perceive and understand a cultures?
